The Role

You will lead a small team of Engineers operating at customer/end user sites across the globe. Your focus is operational: ensuring the team is ready, the mission runs smoothly, and the customer has a trusted partner on the ground. You'll be the bridge between our engineering organisation at home and the realities of the field.

What you will do

• Lead and support a small team of Forward Deployed Engineers in live operational environments

• Act as the primary point of contact for the customer on-site and off-site, managing day-to-day operations and expectations under pressure

• Ensure system readiness, operational continuity, and adherence to safety and compliance standards

• Coordinate with internal engineering, logistics, and other teams to resolve issues and anticipate needs

• Report on operational performance, incidents, and lessons learned

• Foster a high-performing, adaptable team culture in a demanding field setting

What you bring

• Proven experience leading technical, operational, or customer-facing teams

• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills

• Comfortable making decisions under pressure and in dynamic situations

• Willingness to travel regularly

• Organised, accountable, and calm under pressure

Nice to have

• Technical background in avionics, electronics, or systems integration

• Experience in defence, aerospace, UAV systems, or critical infrastructure sectors

• Familiarity with military or government operational environments
