The Role:

As a Buyer, you will take ownership of purchasing materials and services, working closely with suppliers and internal teams to ensure production requirements are met.

You will focus on achieving the best possible cost, quality and delivery performance, while identifying opportunities for cost reduction and process improvement.

This buyer role would suit someone with knowledge and experience of procurement process although we welcome candidates from related supply chain or engineering backgrounds. This is a great career opportunity to join a team in a forward thinking company and develop their buying career further in this exciting, varied and fast paced role.

Responsibilities

· Create, manage and expedite open orders to meet business and production schedules.

· Own and develop supplier relationships, monitor performance and resolve supply or delivery issues.

· Source and issue requests for quotation, negotiating price, lead time and terms to secure best value.

· Conduct due diligence on new and existing suppliers.

· Maintain accurate purchasing records and ensure procurement processes are followed.

· Work closely with other departments including accounts payable, inventory and warehousing/logistics.

· Identify opportunities to improve cost, quality and delivery performance.

Profile and requirements

You will ideally have:

· Experience in procurement, sourcing or supply chain

· Previous experience of ERP/MRP systems

· An understanding of supply chain risk

· The ability to manage multiple priorities in a busy environment

· A practical, problem-solving mindset
