Location: Caldas da Rainha

What will be your responsibilities: 

• End-to-end mechanical and electrical integration of ISTAR mission-aligned payloads such as Gimbals, Radars, Satcoms, Radios and other mission-related payloads onto the aircraft.

• Constant prototyping and validation of ideas and concept

• Define and document the physical and logical interfaces between the aircraft and the mission sensors.

• Design and oversee the manufacturing of custom mounts, wiring harnesses, and cooling solutions for mission payloads.

• Ensure that high-power mission sensors (like maritime radars) do not interfere with the aircraft’s navigation or communication systems.

• Participate and oversee ground and flight testing to troubleshoot sensor performance and data link reliability in real-world conditions.

Profile and requirements:

• Academic background in Physics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering or a related field

• 2-5 years of experience in design, integration and implementing related systems;

• You are comfortable working across domains - multidisciplinary 

• Technical Toolkit:

  • 3D CAD proficiency (Solidworks, Catia, or similar)

  • Knowledgeable about fabrication methods like 3D printing, machining and molding

  • Hands on experience with electronics (multimeters, oscilloscopes, and PCB troubleshooting)

  • Exposure to communication protocols in embedded systems (CAN, RS-232/422, i2C and related ones)

  • Experience with drone building (valued)

• Advanced knowledge in Portuguese (C1) and English (B2)
